Together WE CAN END IT.
The Prostate Awareness Research Foundation, PAR for Life, and ZERO - The End of Prostate Cancer have joined forces to create a stronger movement to end death from prostate cancer. On January 1, 2013 PAR for Life and Zero will work as one stronger organization, ZERO - The End of Prostate Cancer, to save lives through increased awareness and education as well as continue to support research for finding a cure.
Our mission doesn't change - to eliminate death from prostate cancer.
ZERO will continue to pursue and support a vision where at risk and diagnosed men understand their individual health risks, the biology of their cancer and treatment options through a strong patient-doctor relationship. With a strong grassroots network of close to 100 events scheduled during 2013 we look forward to seeing you at one of our RUN, GOLF, NIGHT OUT, TESTING or ENDURANCE events. Continue to support the PAR for Life mission through your support of ZERO
LET'S END IT.
It's with excitement and some sadness that I write this thank you letter to everyone who has helped over the last three years in getting the Prostate Awareness Research Foundation, PAR for Life, up and going.
A huge thank you to my Board of Directors, Scientific Advisory Board, especially Dr. Tom Beer, my family and the many volunteers, especially Sally Lynch, who have donated time and energy at the over 35 events PAR for Life has executed since we started in 2010. Thank you to the PAR for Life supporters and sponsors without whom none of what we achieved would have been possible. We donated over $75,000 to local prostate cancer research, gave over 400 men free PSA tests and educated countless thousands of people about the risks of prostate cancer.
It became obvious to me over the last 16 months that one of the things that would help the prostate cancer movement move forward would be a consolidation of the vast number of small prostate cancer non-profit organizations around the country under one umbrella allowing for a much stronger voice, brand and ability to impact the awareness and education levels surrounding prostate cancer.
With that in mind beginning on January 1, 2013 PAR for Life will join forces with ZERO - The Project to End Prostate Cancer to form ZERO, The End of Prostate Cancer (zerocancer.org). ZERO is the second largest prostate cancer non-profit in the US and has over 80 events scheduled for 2013 including golf, run/walk, night out, free testing, endurance, and advocacy events.
PAR for Life was started to honor my father, Tom Denhart, following his passing and 14-year fight with prostate cancer. I honestly believe our effort to raise awareness, educate both men and women and save lives, has taken a step forward and I ask for your continued support with my work at ZERO. 2013 will mark the beginning of the ZERO Prostate Cancer Golf Series and will include all former PAR for Life Golf Series events. I look forward to seeing everyone at one of our events and, of course, at the annual Tom Denhart Memorial Golf Tournament later in the year.
Working together we can save more dads, husbands, uncles, brothers and friends.
Together WE CAN END IT.
I miss you Dad.
Wishing you good health in 2013,
PAR for Life
