Mission statement

The Prostate Awareness Research Foundation, PAR for Life, is dedicated to eliminating death from prostate cancer by focusing on improving education and awareness and the risk factors associated with the disease. PAR for Life will support research that advances the knowledge and understanding necessary to individualize prostate cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

We will pursue and support a vision where at risk and diagnosed men understand their individual health risks, the biology of their cancer and treatment options with a focus on a strong patient – doctor relationship.

Research makes it clear that the era of the “one-size fits all” approaches to prostate cancer, including detection and treatment, has advanced the field as far as it can go. It is obvious that each man and each cancer is unique and through this knowledge we will advance the cause of eliminating deaths due to prostate cancer.
