FDA approves a new theraphy for advanced prostate cancer

Last week the Food and Drug Administration approved Provenge, a new therapy for certain men with advanced prostate cancer that uses their own immune system to fight the disease.  This type of treatment is in line with PAR for Life’s mission.  Research makes it clear that the era of the “one-size fits all” approaches to prostate cancer, including detection and treatment, has advanced the field as far as it can go. It is obvious that each man and each cancer is unique and through this knowledge we will advance the cause of eliminating deaths due to prostate cancer.
