Basic tips for eating healthy

It has been reported that although the primary risk factor in developing prostate cancer is aging attention is being given to the role diet nutrition play in its development and progression. What we eat is the number one thing we can control when it comes to our health. Talk to your doctor about a properly balanced diet tailored to fit your specific body type and health circumstances. Become a label reading expert.

Don’t take the front of the box claims of high fiber, reduced fat or low in salt as legit unless you verify it on the nutrition label. For example, often times reduced fat foods replace the fat with sugar, is this something you want to be trading? Educate yourself so that you become more informed about exactly what you are putting in your body. With a little time and effort you can become a label reading expert. And don’t forget there is no label needed for fresh fruits and vegetables.  Start adding tomatoes, watermelons, red grapefruit, papaya and red berries to your diet.  All are great sources of lycopene, a health-promoting plant pigment known for its cancer-battling ability.  It also promotes a strong immune system and helps support prostate health in men.
